Reunion Dinners at the St. Denis Hotel, Manhattan
Annual Camp Awosting reunion dinners were held each year at the elegant Hotel St. Denis in New York City. The first preserved menu from a dinner came from 1902 and included fine dining such as New York City's own Waldorf Salad, created in 1896 by maitre d' of the Waldorf Hotel, Oscar Tschirky. Each year the guests signed the back of the menu in order to signify their presence at the dinner. The adjacent menu depicts both the dining options at the 1904 dinner and its "attendance sheet," including the lone Japanese signature of camper Yoneo Arai.
