About the Reher Center
The Reher Center Today
The Reher Center interprets the story of 99-101 Broadway and its former inhabitants to cultivate conversations about immigrant foodways, family businesses, local and regional social and cultural history, and urban change. As we build our institution, we are producing exhibits and programs off-site and digitally while simultaneously restoring the building, our central artifact. The restored and recreated space will preserve the building’s historical value and offer an immersive environment for tours and public programs.
Located within the boundaries of the nationally designated Rondout-West Strand Historic District and the Kingston Urban Cultural Park Heritage Area, Reher's Bakery building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
