IBM In the Hudson Valley

Aircraft fire control systems and Browning automatic carbine rifles were manufactured here. This was the Delapenha Canning Factory when IBM bought it in 1941.

Later IBM Development Laboratory, purchased 1944. Initially, one research group at Kenyon worked on a new typewriter, while another worked on a printer. Others worked on engineering and electrical projects. This led to an expansion of research facilities, first in Poughkeepsie and then in Kingston.
